Transport & logistics

Logistics software built around your fleet, not a generic dashboard

Route planning, proof of delivery, driver apps, tracking and rate calculation, tied to your accounts system - for operators whose network doesn't fit a standard transport package.

Where it hurts

The usual state of play

Planning by whiteboard

One planner allocates loads from memory and a laminated map, and holiday cover is a crisis.

POD chases the invoice

Proof of delivery arrives on paper days later, so disputed deliveries and invoicing both lag.

Rates in a spreadsheet

Customer-specific rates, fuel surcharges and zone pricing live in a file only one person understands.

No live tracking

The only answer to 'where's my load' is a phone call to the driver.

Compliance on paper

Vehicle checks, tacho data and driver hours tracked separately, reconciled the night before an audit.

TMS that half fits

You bought a transport management system for the fleet you had five years ago, not the network you run now.

Modules

What we build for transport and logistics operators

Delivered one module at a time, each earning its keep before the next begins.

  • Route and load planning, with drag-and-drop scheduling and capacity by vehicle and trailer type
  • Driver app for job lists, navigation handover, proof of delivery and exception reporting, working offline
  • Live tracking and customer-facing ETA updates, without a call to the office
  • Rate calculation encoding your customer contracts, fuel surcharge and zone pricing rules once
  • Vehicle checks, defect reporting and driver hours, feeding your compliance records automatically
  • Warehouse and cross-dock handover where loads originate from your own stock
  • Invoicing and self-billing built from completed jobs, connected to your accounts package
  • Reporting on cost per mile, on-time performance and utilisation by vehicle and depot

Buy or build

When a transport management system off the shelf is the right answer

If your network is a conventional hub-and-spoke or trunking operation and the standard TMS products cover your rate structures, buying one is usually cheaper and faster than a bespoke build, and we will say so on the call.

Bespoke earns its keep where your pricing logic, customer integrations or compliance requirements are unusual enough that you are working around the product rather than with it - or where licence cost per vehicle has grown past the point a bespoke build would cost to own outright.

We build and support transport management systems as a dedicated service. See our [transport management systems page](/services/transport-management-systems) for how we approach TMS builds specifically, including where a hybrid of buy-and-extend makes more sense than a full rebuild.

The other half of the network

Where warehousing meets transport

Most logistics operations we work with run a warehouse or cross-dock alongside the fleet, and the two systems need to agree with each other: what's on the vehicle should match what left the goods-out door.

Where that warehouse operation is complex enough to need its own system, we build it as a [warehouse management system](/services/warehouse-management-systems) that hands off cleanly into route planning and despatch, rather than as a bolt-on to the transport system that neither team trusts.

Questions we get asked

Logistics software questions

Should we buy a TMS instead of building one?

For a conventional network, often yes. Bespoke earns its keep when your pricing rules, integrations or compliance needs no longer fit the standard product. See our transport management systems page for the detail.

Does the driver app work with no signal?

Yes. Job details, POD capture and signatures work fully offline and sync automatically when the connection returns.

Can it calculate our customer rates automatically?

Yes. Contract rates, fuel surcharges and zone pricing are encoded once and applied consistently, rather than recalculated by hand for each invoice.

Will it integrate with our accounts and warehouse systems?

Yes. Completed jobs and self-billing data flow into your accounts package, and we can connect it to a warehouse management system so despatch and transport agree.

How long does a first module take?

Most operators see a first working module, such as driver app and POD, live within a few months, with the rest of the platform built in stages after that.
